INFANT REMOTE LEARNING

Infant Offer

Please look at the children's class pages for the weekly planning and all the teaching links you will need.

Our infant children have a slightly different offer due to the challenges regarding the sharing of home devices and their skills and confidence in logging into remote education.  A weekly timetable with links to all activities can be found on your child's class page for easy access.

We will offer a combination of paper tasks, video tutorials from the class teacher and external providers and online activities which are equal to at least three hours of work a day. In addition to the normal topic work we will provide well being activities from our ELSA teaching assistant Mrs Griffiths and PE sessions from Mrs Webber at least once a week and these can be found on Classlist.

Teachers will provide daily feedback for English, maths and some topic work via Classlist and Purple Mash, which will also form part of their assessment on your child's work and progress.

To ease pressure on workload our lessons on Well Being Wednesday and Feel Good Friday will be more practical based including music and art. There are also our weekly infant and junior assemblies and Mr Rich's weekly podcast. Work can be submitted by email to the school office or class teacher, or by the Classlist via the class teacher.

The teachers provide an optional live story time/show and tell session your child can join in with. They will have the chance to see their friends and teachers and more information about this can be found on the class pages.

If you require any support please do not hesitate to contact the school office. We are happy to provide paper packs and have a small number of laptops for loan if you are struggling with devices.

Last lockdown our infants found it hard to keep up with their phonics and reading skills and we cannot express enough how important it is for you to hear your children read every day and support them with their phonics. We will set up our reading book swap again this lockdown and you will be sent information regarding the free online reading book websites on offer. Should you require any support with changing reading books please let us know. We also have jotter books available for you should you wish your child to complete their work in a book and we will post out sketchbooks for their art activities. Jotters and reading books are available in the school foyer.
