Children from year 3 to year 6 will be expected to complete daily tasks set by teachers. We have decided to use a virtual learning environment call Edmodo (www.edmodo.com). The children have been given log in details and their teachers have given them instructions on how to use it. If you have difficulties, please let me know (email@example.com) and I will try to help. As Edmodo is based in USA, the best time to access it will be the morning, as later in the day their server is extremely busy. Work will be set on this platform. If, for whatever reason, the Edmodo server goes down, work will be put on the school website on the class pages. On the class pages, there are links to a number of additional activities should you wish to do extra.
The typical daily timetable will be:
The work does not need to be done in any particular order or at any particular times. If the work is not done on the day set, the teacher will not be able to offer feedback on it.
As we all get used to working and learning this way, more resources, ideas of activities and a broader range of subjects will be added.
Your child’s designated teacher, through Edmodo, will be able to offer some feedback when required. This will sometimes be generic feedback. Initially, the designated teacher will be online between 9am and 1pm. The teacher will respond to parent emails as well. See Mrs Hesketh-Williams’ letter for more details.
